On Sunday 8 March, students from Walton Academy delivered impressive performances at the KSSA Gymnastics Championships, held at the Meres Leisure Centre.

The academy was represented by year 7 students Amaya, Liliana and Chimamanda, Peter in year 8 and Karolina in year 9. In the weeks leading up to the event, the students worked hard to refine their floor routines and vault techniques in preparation for the competition.

The U14 girls’ team competed in the set competition, while Peter took part in the U14 boys’ voluntary competition. All students performed confidently and represented Walton Academy with great commitment.

Although the girls’ team narrowly missed out on a podium finish, Walton Academy celebrated two excellent individual achievements. Karolina secured joint third place, while Peter achieved joint second place in the boys’ competition.

The academy is extremely proud of all the students who took part and the dedication they showed in preparing for the championships.
