At Walton we provide a broad and balanced curriculum to support all of our students in achieving their full potential. Their successful future is our concern. We value all academic, creative and vocational subjects and are proud to offer a wide range of relevant and engaging subjects to all our students.

In years 7 to 9, students follow core studies in English, maths and science and a rich and varied curriculum that includes philosophy and ethics, drama, dance and music, as well as visual arts and modern languages.

In year 10, students then specialise in four subjects, in addition to their core studies, following a wide range of inspiring courses such as triple science, health and social care, dance, drama, humanities, philosophy and ethics and food and nutrition. We ensure that students can follow a variety of combinations of courses, including access to the English Baccalaureate (Ebacc).

Our sixth form prepares all students for the next steps in their career. A combination of highly relevant vocational and academic courses enables students to go onto further study at university or into employment. English literature, mathematics, the sciences, criminology, photography and history continue to be popular choices while some of our most successful students have followed the visual arts and performing arts routes.

Our curriculum is fully inclusive for all learners, all needs are met and more information on this can be found in our special educational needs (SEN) section and policy on the website. As an academy we ensure that the curriculum is in line with and supports all elements of the equalities act 2010, more information can be found in our policy which is in the equalities section.
