The role of Miss Trunchbull is shared by Charlie and Ryan, who both bring power, presence and authority to one of Matilda Jr’s most intimidating characters.
Feared by pupils and staff alike, Miss Trunchbull rules Crunchem Hall through discipline, strength and sheer force of personality – believing compassion to be a weakness that must be crushed.
Charlie says, “This is my last show at Walton, and I’m really grateful that I get to play such an iconic character.” With years of musical theatre experience, Charlie is excited to take on the challenge of such a demanding role.
Ryan is most looking forward to “performing The Hammer in front of a live audience,” describing the moment as one that “brings shivers down my spine.” Having appeared in both Bugsy Malone and The SpongeBob Musical, Ryan is ready to command the stage.
