Walton Academy came together for a fantastic day of sport, teamwork and house spirit as students took to the field for the academy’s annual sports day on Wednesday 15 July.

With glorious sunshine providing the perfect backdrop, the event was filled with energy, determination and encouragement from start to finish. Students proudly represented Belton, Belvoir, Burghley and Irnham in a full programme of track and field events, creating a vibrant atmosphere as houses competed for this year’s title.

Throughout the day, students demonstrated resilience, commitment and outstanding sportsmanship, giving their very best in every event while cheering on teammates and celebrating one another’s achievements. Whether competing for points on the track, in the field events or supporting from the sidelines, every student played an important part in making the day such a success.

The excitement continued throughout the afternoon as the house points were counted before the final standings were announced.

Congratulations to Belton House, whose consistently strong performances across the day secured this year’s sports day title. Every house displayed incredible determination, teamwork and pride, making the competition both closely contested and thoroughly enjoyable.

A huge thank you goes to Miss Sandell, the PE department and the many staff who helped organise and deliver another outstanding sports day. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured the event ran smoothly and gave students the opportunity to enjoy a memorable day of competition and celebration.

The day concluded with a special surprise as students gathered for one final announcement. Walton Academy was delighted to introduce the staff who will lead each house into the new academic year.
