We were delighted to welcome back visitors to the academy site for our Post 16 Open Evening last week. The event was fully subscribed, with over 200 visitors joining us for the evening. Prospective students from a variety of local schools came along with their parents in order to tour the site and learn about our offer.
They had the opportunity to meet the dedicated team of teaching staff and our fantastic post 16 students who promoted our academy with pride and confidence. Visitors learned about the range of academic pathways we offer including A Level, Diploma and BTEC qualifications. They explored our enrichment programme including the vast array of extra-curricular and leadership opportunities, work experience, cultural trips, external visitor agenda and more.
In addition, students and their parents were able to seek expert advice about careers, apprenticeship and university applications, as well as exploring our bespoke pastoral programme.
We are a co-educational sixth form welcoming applications from male and female students and offer a wide range of academic and vocational courses, situated within our purpose-built Post 16 Centre. The application deadline to apply for sixth form study at Walton is 11 February 2022, and students are encouraged to apply even if they are uncertain about which courses they want to choose at this stage. Each applicant will be offered a 1:1 meeting where we can discuss an academic pathway that is suited to your career aspirations and needs.
