Why choose Level 3 extended project qualification?

The EPQ is a unique and flexible Level 3 qualification designed to stretch and challenge students by encouraging independent learning. How will Level 3 extended project qualification be delivered?

The EPQ is delivered alongside A Levels and allows students to pursue a project of their choice. Students receive guidance from a dedicated EPQ mentor throughout the process and have the opportunity to consult experts in their chosen field.

Assessment

Assessment is internal and externally moderated by Pearson. Students produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating the project journey and outcome. Assessment includes:

  • Project logbook
  • Final product (written report or artefact)
  • A presentation to a non-specialist audience

The qualification is graded A–E*, and can be completed over one or two years. There are no written exams.
