Welcome from post 16 lead

I am incredibly proud to work with an exceptional team who are dedicated to ensuring every student thrives—both academically and personally. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, welcoming community, with many students joining us from other schools and quickly becoming valued members of our Post 16 family.

At Walton, we believe in compassionate rigour—combining high expectations with personalised care. Our bespoke tutor curriculum, outstanding pastoral support, and passionate teachers ensure that every student is empowered to achieve their personal best and leave us as ambitious, responsible, and inspiring individuals. We offer a wide range of academic and vocational pathways, alongside expert post-18 support and careers guidance, helping you make informed choices about your future—whether university, apprenticeship, or employment.

Our enrichment programme is an integral part of life at Post 16, offering a wealth of opportunities to broaden your horizons and develop essential skills for your future. This includes supercurricular activities, guest speakers from universities and apprenticeship providers, sports activities and volunteering both within school and the wider community, reflecting our ethos that Post 16 students are role models and leaders.

Our Post 16 students are at the heart of school life, leading on a variety of initiatives including running clubs, supporting our house system, and organising charity events. These opportunities allow you to develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills that will support you well beyond Walton.

We also provide dedicated support for students aspiring to competitive pathways. Our specialist STEM and Oxbridge mentor offer tailored guidance and preparation, while our transition mentor ensures all students, whether new to Walton or progressing internally, feel fully supported from day one.

Our Post 16 facilities are designed to help you flourish, featuring well-equipped classrooms, bookable study spaces, a study room with computers and laptops, a silent study room and a social kitchen—creating an inspiring, collaborative environment where you can study and connect with peers.

Throughout your journey, you will be supported by our experienced Post 16 team, including form tutors, a progress mentor, a careers advisor, and specialist pathway mentors. Our bespoke pastoral programme features regular academic mentoring, personal guidance, and progress checks to ensure you stay on track and achieve your goals.

At Walton Academy, we are committed to supporting you every step of the way—helping you leave us as confident, capable, and prepared for your next steps, equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experiences to pursue your chosen future.
