Last week our year 8 pupils participated in the rearranged U13 county cup football match against The Deepings School. Pupils were high in confidence in the minibus on the way to the match and although it was a cold day, the sun was shining. The sun caused us a lot of problems in the first half and made it extremely difficult for the goalkeeper and defenders to see the ball. Although we trailed as we went into half-time, the atmosphere amongst the players was very optimistic.

Sadly, our opposition were too strong in the end and they scored a couple of goals in the second half too. However, the goal of the game was scored by Walton right before the full-time whistle. A perfectly timed through ball allowed the Walton striker to smash it past the goalkeeper. Well done Walton, your heads never dropped and we will be ready for the next match. A big thank you to Joe who was our referee to from year 12, who was consistent and fair throughout.
