Last week our year 9 boys football team travelled to Spalding Academy to take part in their first round under 14 county cup match.
It was a very windy afternoon, the pitch was in fantastic condition and the students were both nervous and excited before kick off.
Walton started well but Spalding scored two quick goals which meant that our students had to dig deep to remain strong at the back, but we had to try and create chances in order to pull a goal back.
Although the effort levels from all of the Walton players were truly amazing, Spalding were just too strong and ran out eventual winners. It was a great experience and one that the students will reflect on and use in their next match.
