On Tuesday 12 November 2024, ten talented athletes from Walton Academy, representing years 7 to 11, competed in the District Cross Country competition at Belton House. In true Walton spirit, each student tackled the course with impressive resilience and determination, and their efforts were rewarded with a memorable experience.
Among the standout achievements was Learna B in year 11, who finished 11th out of 46 runners in the inter girls category. Her excellent performance secured her a place in the top 20, qualifying her to represent the Kesteven District at the Lincolnshire Cross Country competition, set to take place in January 2025 at Burghley House. Learna demonstrated true athleticism, keeping pace with the leaders throughout the race and sprinting to the finish line with a smile on her face. Her hard work, both in the gym and the boxing ring, was evident in her strong cross-country performance.
Special mentions also go to Taylor R in year 11, who claimed 22nd place out of 55 runners in the inter boys category, and India M in year 8, who finished 25th out of 61 in the junior girls. Both students delivered commendable performances, giving their all.
