On Saturday 13 January, the picturesque grounds of Burghley House set the stage for the Lincolnshire Cross Country event. Three remarkable Walton Academy students had the honour of representing the Kesteven District after qualifying from a previous Cross Country competition.
In a field of 24 runners, Georgia (Y12) distinguished herself with a commendable performance, securing 15th place overall in the county among senior girls (year 12 and 13). What adds to her achievement is being the 1st Kesteven District runner to cross the finish line.
India (Y7) showcased her talent and determination in the year 7 girls category, securing 31st place overall in the county out of 60 runners. Notably, India was the 4th Kesteven District runner to complete the challenging course.
Joshua (Y10) demonstrated remarkable tenacity, competing in the inter-boys category (years 10 and 11), claiming the 40th place overall in the county among 61 runners. Joshua’s commitment to the race was evident, proudly standing as the 9th Kesteven District runner to conquer the course.
The entire Walton Academy community congratulates Georgia, India, and Joshua for their achievements at the Lincolnshire Cross Country event. Their dedication and sportsmanship have indeed made the academy proud.
Well done, Team Walton! Your accomplishments on the cross country course are a testament to your hard work and dedication. As a community, we continue to support and celebrate the successes of our students, both in the classroom and on the field.
