This summer, Lionel Bart’s legendary musical, Oliver! is coming to St Wulfram’s Church, Grantham. MJH productions is back! After stunning audiences last year with their version of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, an incredible team of creatives and cast are hugely excited to share with you their version of Oliver! Walton Academy is delighted to be back again as the main sponsor for the show, and it has been wonderful to have the company using our facilities to develop their vision and create this masterpiece.
Our Walton Academy community is also heavily involved in the creative team and cast. The production is directed and choreographed by our very own Arts Coordinator, Adam Slepowronski and the musical direction is in the talented hands of Walton’s Head of Music, David Warman. Onto the cast, Harmony C from year 9 shares the role of the Artful Dodger, and Charlie T from year 10 shares the role of Captain from Fagin’s gang. Mrs Fields from the English department plays the Marton and Strawberry Seller, and we even have our very own Principal, Jessica Leonard, taking to the stage to play the part of Mrs Sowerberry.
If you want to find out what happens to the boy who asked for more, make sure you get your tickets for what is set to be a wonderful performance of professional quality. Performances run from 8-12 August at St Wulfram’s Church, and tickets are available from the Guildhall Arts Centre:
