Sir William Robertson Academy 2 – Walton Academy 3
In the biting cold of Wednesday 6 December, our year 9 boys travelled to Sir William Robertson Academy (SWRA) to take part in a football match. Despite the chilly weather, the floodlit pitch set the stage for an exciting competition.
Walton got off to a strong start when Max provided a perfectly judged corner for Jack to head in within the first couple of minutes, securing an early lead for the team. SWRA swiftly responded with a fortunate deflection, levelling the score before halftime. The second half mirrored the first, with Jack’s spectacular right-footed shot which beat the keeper from long distance. SWRA managed to equalise late in the game with a neat finish capitalising on a defensive mix up. Elijah sealed the win for Walton Academy with a clinical finish after Aidan’s initial shot was heavily deflected.
A commendable display of sportsmanship and skill from both teams made this match a memorable one. Well done to every player who participated in this thrilling football match against Sir William Robertson Academy!
Special congratulations to Aiden, who showcased exceptional goalkeeping skills and earned the well-deserved title of Player of the Match.
Walton Academy celebrates this hard-fought triumph and looks forward to more exciting matches ahead. Well done, team!
