There were tears of joy, smiles and celebrations today at Walton Academy – part of Diverse Academies Trust – as students received their GCSE results. Staff at the academy were immensely proud of all the students, with some brilliant individual successes – testament to their hard work and determination.

One student celebrating today was Charlotte Bingham, who was awarded three grade 9s, four grade 8s, 1 grade 7 and a Distinction. Charlotte said she was ‘absolutely delighted’ with her results.

Another student who was very happy with their results was Grace Davies, who achieved two grade 9s, four grade 8s, two grade 7s and a Distinction*. Grace said: “I am super happy with my results and really looking forward to starting my A levels. Thank you to my teachers for all their support, they always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.” Grace will now go on to continue her studies at Walton Post 16.

The anxious wait was over for Rosie Smith who celebrated a great set of results, with five grade 9s, three 8s, one grade 7 and a grade 6. Rosie will be heading to Walton Post 16 in September to study A levels. She said: “I did so much better than I thought I would, I’m really happy. Thank you so much to my teachers for all of their support.”

Another student who did incredibly well was Juliet Staton. With four grade 9s, two grade 8s, one 7 and two grade 6s, she will take up a place at Walton Post 16 to further her studies. On receiving her results, Juliet commented: “I’m so happy with my results and really excited to be joining post 16 in September.”

Celebrations were also in order for Oliwia Grabinska, who was awarded three 9s, two Distinctions, one 8, three 7s and a grade 6. She will also be heading to Walton Post 16 in the autumn to continue her studies. Oliwia said: “I can’t believe it, I’m really pleased with my results. I’m really looking forward to all the opportunities ahead in post 16 at Walton.”

Principal, Jess Leonard, added: “We are really pleased with the results at Walton and incredibly proud of our students. They thoroughly deserve this recognition for their hard work and resilience.

“We cannot wait to welcome back those students joining us for their post 16 studies, and for those leaving us today, all our staff wish them every success and happiness for their futures.”

The academy invites any students yet to secure a place with a post 16 provider for this September or students considering their post-GCSE options to visit or email for more information.
