Celebrating 60 years
In 2026, Walton Academy celebrates 60 years on our current Kitty Briggs Lane site — marking the moment the former Girls’ Central School became Walton Girls’ High School as it moved into its new purpose-built home in 1966.
On Thursday 29 January 2026, we marked this Diamond Anniversary with a special celebration, welcoming back former pupils who were part of the school in 1966. The morning focused on former pupils sharing their memories and experiences with our current students, supported by photographs and memorabilia that brought Walton’s history to life.
As we continue this anniversary year, we are keen to reconnect with former students from across the past six decades. If you were part of the school at any point since the move, we would love to hear your stories and see any photographs or memories you’d like to share.
Your contributions will help us build a vibrant archive and celebrate six decades of learning, achievement and community at Walton Academy.
