On Monday 21 March 2022 we celebrated Afghanistan New Year, Nowruz. The ancient tradition marks the arrival of spring and new beginnings.
To celebrate, our Post 16 centre set up a traditional haftseen table in their foyer which was full of symbolic items for a healthy and prosperous new year. Our students from the hub decorated eggs with traditional symbolic items. Students and staff also brought in spring flowers, made decorations and cards and were really excited to celebrate the festival.
Our catering team also made some delicious cupcakes for the celebration which were enjoyed by our students and a fruit tree was also planted by our Afghanistan students to mark new life and new beginnings.
