Before half term, the term’s National Teen Book Club ended and we had another Walton illustration competition winner; this time it was Year 9 Alina D.
Alina’s name was announced online by the author of the book that they had been reading (The Crossing by Manjeet Mann) and as with our previous year 9 winner, her prize is an online masterclass with a book industry professional.
The picture Alina drew was on the theme of ‘Journey’, reflecting The Crossing’s interconnecting story of an Eritrean refugee’s travel towards the UK and the progress made by an English girl towards coming to terms with the loss of her mother.
