Year 13 students, Tom and Luke, have taken on a Christmas challenge in support of Grantham Foodbank.

The two sixth form students completed a Santa Run on 10 December, running 8.6 miles along the Grantham canal route, all the way from Grantham to Bottesford.

Tom  and Luke initially set themselves a target of raising £400 for the Grantham Foodbank to contribute to a food pallet worth £1,000.  However, they smashed this target and raised enough to fund two pallets on their own.

They said: “We are doing this because we feel it is an absolute necessity to give back to the local community and aid those in need, especially over the Christmas period.”

Other post 16 students have been undertaking fundraising activities to support the Foodbank and have raised hundreds of pounds more.
