The EVOLVE project is run by Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV), and is supported by Lincolnshire Music Education Hub. EVOLVE aims to build relationships between schools, arts venues, and cultural organisations.

The project coordinator is Adam Perkins. Working with Adam is Myles Clear, an Emerging Music Leader with LOV.  At Walton Academy, the project is being run with year 10 music students, working alongside our partner venue the Guildhall Arts Centre.

Throughout the project, young people explore musicianship, event planning and marketing, and music industry roles and responsibilities. They work with a local arts venue, taking part in workshops on technical theatre and running a venue. The project culminates in a public performance, planned and performed by students. Last week the students attended a live music performance at the Guildhall Arts Centre and we were thrilled to receive an email from a fellow guest who commended all the students for their positivity, their engagement with the performance and the impeccable consideration they showed for their fellow audience members.

As part of the project, the students are also able to achieve a Bronze Arts Award. This is a terrific addition to this already exciting and enriching opportunity.

A full description of the project and its aims can be found here.

We are delighted to be able to offer this fantastic opportunity to our students and are proud of the way they have engaged with the project staff and the positive working relationships they have fostered with them.  We know that they will gain valuable experience and develop their confidence and communication skills through the EVOLVE programme, and cannot wait to see their final performance in July.
