How will this subject be delivered?

This subject is delivered by students studying topics through each exam paper. Students will start year 12 with the delivery of research methods and issues and approaches to ensure they have a strong foundation for topics such as memory and social influence.

How is it assessed?

The Psychology A Level course is assessed by three written examinations:

  • Paper 1 – Introductory topics in Psychology – 2 hours – 33.3% of A Level
  • Paper 2 – Psychology in context – 2 hours – 33.3% of A Level
  • Paper 3 – Issues and Options in Psychology – 2 hours – 33.3% of A Level

Subject specific entry requirements

Minimum grade 6 in Mathematics and/or Science.
